The Tracks: Brea, California
Here’s the new ride, a Carbon Fold 1 from Urtopia (link clicky). It weighs around 34 pounds, folds up into a nice little bundle, and is easy to lift and put into the back seat of my car. It’s been a long while since I’ve ridden a bike, but thanks to procedural memory, I guess I never really forgot how. So let the riding begin…..
The Tracks at Brea was my first ride. It’s a great path, approximately 4-miles-long, a smoothly paved two-way lane with only a few street crossings. Perfect. Benches along the way, some nice shady areas and a public restroom right along the route. Here’s some pics:
Plenty of parking and restrooms at Arovista Park on Imperial Hwy in Brea.
Across from the park, the west end of The Tracks, where I like to start.
There’s a small parking area on Brea Blvd., along with a public restroom, shaded tables and benches, and some exercise apparatus.
Clicking on any of the pictures should open up a larger image.
It doesn’t end here at Birch Street.
Cross Birch at Associated Rd.
The last street crossing is at Kramer.
Continue a short way along the sidewalk.
And head into the Birch Hills Golf Course
Not sure what the story is with the locked gate across the trail, I believe the path goes a little farther, but for me, this was a good stretch to ride and a nice spot to turn around and head back. The Tracks is a really nice path, smooth, clean and mostly level with several places along the trail to enter/exit into nearby neighborhoods. And there’s a cafe at the Birch Hills Golf Course that I’m going to have to check out one of these rides. Great place to stop and have a snack.
The Smart Screen Says: 3.4 miles in 16 minutes for a one-way ride.
Thanks for stopping by and giving this post a looksee. Comments below are much appreciated! Safe Trails!
