The Carousel - Twentynine Palms - California

Explor Date: April 04 of 2022

Many years ago, in a desert far, far away, I remember driving by this place when it was open. Either the Carousel Cafe or Carousel Restaurant, I don’t remember which. But I always thought it looked pretty cool and that I should stop in for a meal. Alas, I never did. The restaurant closed and the building later repurposed to the Carousel of Treasures, which I believe was a thrift store. I’m not sure how long it’s been vacant.

I spoke with a gentleman who stopped by while I was taking pictures, maybe I looked shifty. After talking with him a bit, he said it was unlikely that anyone else would use the property, as there is a massive water leak under the building. The Carousel’s days may be winding down.

There are a number of knick-knacks scattered about the border of the property, most likely placed there by the owner of the thrift store.
